Philip Munyua is an AI engineer and data scientist with extensive experience designing and deploying large-scale artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cloud data systems across global organizations.
He holds a PhD in Computer Information Systems from Purdue University and a Master’s degree from Columbia University. His expertise spans AI systems engineering, computer vision, data platforms, cloud infrastructure, and real-time decision systems.
Philip has led AI and data initiatives across the United States, India, and Africa, contributing to enterprise-scale systems within finance, public sector, research, and technology environments.
Through Kilimo Afya, he is building AI-powered agricultural intelligence systems that support crop diagnosis, farmer advisory, agricultural extension, climate resilience, and digital farming ecosystems for smallholder farmers across Africa.
He also leads innovation and incubation initiatives through CRIBI at Kenya Methodist University, where Kilimo Afya is deployed as a Living Lab supporting research, deployment, validation, and ecosystem collaboration.
